Members' Visit to Rockmount House

Members of the Trust recently visited the former Hogwartz Backpackers, a building that was originally called Rockmount House, located within the City Rise Heritage Precinct. This property is for sale.

The architectural period of the house is Victorian (1838-1901). It was built in an Italianate Villa style for George Duncan. It then became the Bishop’s Palace and Presbytery. It is a prominent bluestone building which was more recently a backpackers' hostel, opposite St Joseph’s Cathedral.
