Festival: Lawson Lecture

Last night we celebrated with the presentation of the annual Lawson Lecture, with our Mayor-elect, Sophie Barker. It was held in the Sargood Centre in Logan Park, the original Art Gallery at the 1925/26 Exhibition.

Sophie has grown up steeped in heritage, from her babyhood at Larnach Castle which appropriately was designed by RA Lawson. Sophie has served two terms as a Councillor and now as Mayor. Sophie has a deep love and appreciation for Dunedin’s heritage, history and above all else, its people. Sophie’s presentation was titled ‘How to Build a Great Small City.’
