The recent AGM for the Southern Heritage Trust was preceded with a panel of three speaking on what they considered their views of Ōtepoti Dunedin’s heritage stock and future.
Bill Southworth chaired the talks, introducing Ted Daniels, Ann Barsby and Jo Galer. We witnessed the many achievements of Ted’s in repurposing heritage buildings, Ann’s vision for present heritage and Jo’s journey through what Dunedin could look like at the beginning of the next decade. This was an interesting and challenging evening with what heritage has been lost and those we don’t want to lose while bearing in mind how much we value the title of New Zealand’s heritage city. We need to keep it.
Jo Galer, the outgoing Chair then presented her AGM annual report, the financial statement and a run down of the October Heritage Festival based on the 1925/26 South Seas Great Exhibition held at Logan Park.
Thank you to all speakers and attendees.
