Mothers in the Seacliff Asylum. Michelle Walker is a PhD candidate in History, Otago University, researching maternal mental illnesses after childbirth in 19th and 20th Century New Zealand. 

Dunedin’s American War Brides of World War II. What impact did American servicemen have on Dunedin in World War II? Prof Angela Wanhalla, Otago University, explores that question through the stories of Dunedin women who married American servicemen. It looks, too, at what happened to these couples after the war was over.
