Ropes Ahoy!
21 Oct 2024, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Josephine Foyer, Toitū, 31 Queens Gardens, Central Dunedin, Dunedin 9016, New Zealand
The harbour plays a key part in the history of Ōtepoti, with 2024 marking the 150th year of the Otago Harbour Board, now Port Otago.
In celebration of the Ōtepoti Dunedin Heritage Festival, drop into the Josephine foyer and try your hand at rope tying. This self-guided station will be open throughout the week, providing you with the opportunity to practice and perfect your knot-tying skills.
Whether you are a history buff or just curious about rope tying, this ‘give it a go’ activity offers a glimpse into the maritime traditions that have influenced so many civilizations. Dive in and discover if you have the makings of a sea-worthy sailor!
