Ōtepoti Dunedin Heritage Festival 2025
Throughout October 2025
Various Dunedin locations
The 2025 Ōtepoti Dunedin Heritage Festival will run throughout October, showcasing a variety of local heritage events.
This year, we are celebrating the extraordinary great exhibitions of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, especially the New Zealand and South Seas International exhibition of 1925-26, which showcased Dunedin's strengths to the rest of the country, and NZ's achievements to the world.
Highlights include a lively programme of short talks in pecha-kucha style in our iconic railway station; a pop-up museum featuring items from local private collections, including 200 items from the 1925 exhibition; a family-oriented Kite Day on Quarantine Island; and a programme of historic home tours in association with Cargill's Castle Trust.
The 2025 programme will be available in September.
