Join us for a guided house tour of 38 Easther Crescent. This house is believed to be designed by Francis William Petre, one of New Zealand's most outstanding architects. Petre arrived in Dunedin in 1872, and is responsible for a number of landmark buildings, including St Joseph’s Cathedral, Christchurch Roman Catholic Cathedral, Wellington Sacred Heart, Oamaru large basilica and Cargills Castle. The use of poured concrete for the construction of walls was one of his special interests which gained him the nickname ‘Lord Concrete’.
