How to Look After Archives at Home

Amassed a mountain of family photos? Overwhelmed by a relative’s estate? Harbouring a bounty of family history research?

Archivist Tom Riley, archivist at the Hocken Library and branch chair of the Archives and Records Association of New Zealand, discusses how an archive decides what to collect, what it values most, and what happens to material that is donated.

Tom will give some tips on how to organise your personal archives for future generations, in both physical and digital formats, and will attempt to answer the age-old question “who will want all of this?!”
