VISIONS FOR DUNEDIN: ARTHUR STREET SCHOOL HISTORIC INFANTS' BLOCK UNDER THREAT

Dunedin's Arthur Street School celebrates its 170th anniversary this year with a new building, but another of it's buildings, the first and oldest infant’s classroom in Otago, is in imminent danger of being moved to Christchurch.

Both the building and the site are of significant historical value, and there are compelling reasons why this only remaining heritage building must be retained on its present site. Options for sustainable reuse must be fully investigated and an important social and educational role for Dunedin realised.

SPEAKERS: Bruce Robertson, former Headmaster, and Lois Galer.
