Journey to New Edinburgh: A Pioneer Vision of Dunedin
This year it is 175 years since the New Zealand Company settlers first arrived in Otago to begin building their New Edinburgh settlement. It seems timely to consider what hopes and aspirations had brought them half way around the world from Scotland, and how much Dunedin as it developed might have fulfilled their dreams.
SPEAKER: Seán Brosnahan is a curator at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum and presenter of the Museum’s new documentary on the Otago settlement scheme, Journey to New Edinburgh.
