The Northern Cemetery

Take a stroll through the Northern Cemetery, Lovelock Avenue, and admire the heritage roses, which are now in full bloom. The Northern Cemetery is New Zealand’s finest Victorian garden cemetery and has a thousand original heritage roses.

Stroll at your leisure or follow the Heritage Roses trail, copies of which are available for sale at the Sexton’s Cottage, where you can also purchase the Heritage Roses booklet.

The Dunedin Gasworks Museum is important as the only surviving and preserved example of a city gasworks where the process is explained and the equipment demonstrated.
