Dunedin Gasworks Museum

Imagemap

The Dunedin Gasworks Museum Trust was established in 1987 to preserve part of the old Dunedin city Gasworks, which had closed down and was due for demolition.

Extensive restoration of the buildings, refurbishment of the machinery and many hours of volunteer work enabled the Engine House to open to the public in February 2001.

The Engine House, Dunedin Gasworks Museum, is one of only three gasworks museums in the world. It is a unique attraction with the feel of an authentic Edwardian workplace which includes the original steam pumping equipment.
